Handcrafted cold process soap made with goats milk and silk and scented with tart blood orange, similar to grapefruit. Citrus is my favourite fragrance family. This one does not dissapoint.Blood orange is one of my favourite soaps to make. It almost never goes wrong and it moves at a more relaxed pace than most of the others in the range. We mix to a very thick trace* before adding the fragrance. The blood orange fragrance relaxes the soap again giving us more time to create the design. Once all the soap is in the mould we wait a couple of minutes for the soap to stiffen up again before shaping the top.
This soap uses bright white and cheerful orange + a third colour that is a blend of the two for a monochromatic style.
* Trace is a soapmakers term to indicate the level of stiffness in the mixture. Very thick trace is like cold custard and is almost unworkable. Usually trace moves from thin, to medium to thick and never goes backwards. This fragrance is quite unique in its ability to reverse these stages.
